Celebrating Wednesday's #38

Good morning everyone and welcome to the middle of another week. I'm never sure whether I'm nearer to the end of the week, or just a little further away from Monday, if that makes any sense, which it probably doesn't. Either way, it's Wednesday and on Wednesday, we do like to give you a little something to celebrate, or at the very least, ponder upon and this week is no exception.

I have to say, this Wednesday is very spoilt with not one, but four things to celebrate. You could have had Coast Guard Day (very apt for the summer break), Single Working Women's Day or (and I was very tempted by this one) Assistance Dog Day. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but in the end I settled for the fourth option, which I think you'll love.

Celebrating Wednesday's #37

It's been a very long time since last we posted, and even longer since we actually celebrated a Wednesday! What can I say, the past couple of years have been a journey and a half, which I will expand upon in another, more appropriate post; for now, let's just say, it's been a stressful time.

However, we're back now and easing our way back into the blogging world. Forgive me for being a little rusty. I had been pondering, somewhat on what might be the best way to get back into things and after a wee bit of research (ok, research is a bit of a lie, I actually stumbled across something) I discovered that today, Wednesday 28th July is a really rather special day indeed and one which frankly, should be very easy to celebrate, for most of us.

What can I say, here in Blighty (at least in the East) it is currently grey and wet. It is a day for staying indoors, watching TV, reading a book, sipping a hot drink and celebrating...

Milk Chocolate Day!

Now, I do have some of the gorgeous sweet stuff in the house, but how I wish I'd done my research before I ventured into town and walked straight past Hotel Chocolat, not once, but four times (not my fault, I moved during lockdown and still don't know where everything is yet). At the time, I thought I was being very self disciplined and was feeling a little smug at how strong I was being, in hindsight, I can see I made a massive faux pas! Today of all days requires a little more than a Freddo and yet here I am, with only a Freddo to raise in honour of Milk Chocolate Day.

I would venture out to the local shop and get something a little more substantial and worthy of such a special day, but like I said, it's grey and wet out and I really don't fancy get caught in a downpour. However, I will make sure that I absolutely make a huge, belated effort tomorrow and maybe the day after too, just to be certain I've done today proud.

So the question is, how are you going to celebrate Milk Chocolate Day? Will you brave the Great British Summer and stock up on your favourite bar, or box of chocolates, or will you bake a cake? Maybe you're more of a chocolate ice cream person, or perhaps you'd rather cosy up on the sofa with a hot chocolate.

However you choose to celebrate this sweet day, enjoy and try not to over indulge too much. As for me, I shall be raising not one, but two Freddo's to the day!

Celebrating Wednesday's #36

Hello everyone and welcome to the middle of February. Yes, I am fully aware of the date and, if you don't mind, I am going to ignore the obvious celebration and sit on my shelf with a cuppa. You see as well as it being 'that day,' it is also:

• Ferris Wheel Day
• Donor Day
• Cream Filled Chocolates Day
• Pet Theft Awareness Day

Personally, I think two of those are far more important than the very commercialised day everyone else is spending money on. That said, I would suggest not letting it slide if you have an other half who is a little sensitive about it, trust me, that's a can of worms you really don't want to open!

However, the day I have chosen for us to celebrate is one which kind of links back nicely to a post I wrote last week, Something for Tomorrow to encourage you all to take part in, Send a Card to a Friend Day.

It's Wednesday, it's the middle of the week and it's flipping cold outside. I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to Spring arriving in a few weeks. I don't mind the cold, but when it takes two hours to warm up after a twenty minute dog walk, well, need I say more?

Anyway, it is Wednesday, which means it's time to settle down with a cuppa and have a few minutes to yourself whilst we look at today's special day. If I may say so, I am just a little bit excited about today's day and I apologise for the number of photos I may use.

Welcome back to our little mid-week celebration. You may, or may not have noticed our absence (it's OK, we're not judging), but a wee break has been required. Celebrating Wednesday's #31

It is officially the last Wednesday before Christmas, so I will wish you a happy one now, please try not to over indulge. I'm sure you've all got lots of last minute bits that need to be done, so I think today, perhaps we should just jump right on in and find out what we are celebrating.

However, before I do, I will say that although it is Go Carolling Day, I am not writing about it. I confess to not be a huge lover of the Christmas Carol.

Celebrating Wednesday's #30

Well here we are once again slap bang in the middle of the week. How's it been? Good, bad, a bit of both? However it's been, let's take a few moments out, have a breather, a hot drink and relax while we set about finding out what this Wednesday has in store for us to celebrate.

Now, I'm going to be honest with you, I think this may be one you either love or hate. No, before you jump the gun, it is not Marmite, but yes it's true, you either love it or hate it, there is no in between. This could be considered the same, so if you are not a lover, I apologise, but it was the only celebration on my calendar today, so we're celebrating it.

Hello and a very warm welcome to the middle of the week. Friday is too far away and Monday isn't far enough away. I find Wednesday a very odd day indeed. It's just a bit meh, isn't it? That's OK though because here we are to have a wee sit down with a cuppa and find out what super exciting thing we will be celebrating today.

I have a feeling, I may have been a little over enthusiastic there, building it up just a wee bit too much. That said, I am getting a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling about this week's special day. I fear you are going to think I'm crazier than I am when I tell you what it is, but perhaps, just perhaps, some of you might get it.

Well here we are again. I must say, after such a long time of not doing our little Wednesday slot, it feels a little odd to be back, but in a good way. It's nice to have a day of the week where you know what you have to do and there is a definite focus. It does take the pressure off just a wee bit. Fellow bloggers will know that coming up with content can sometimes be a real challenge. Writers block is, indeed, a real thing.

Thankfully, that is not a problem today because here we are, ready to celebrate the middle of the week. Not only is it downhill to the weekend from here, but it is also a special day.

It's been a long, long time since last we celebrated a Wednesday. I'll be honest, some weeks it was getting just a tad difficult to muster up the enthusiasm to celebrate what was on offer. I have to say though, that I have also, kind of missed it a little bit and so here we are starting over(ish) again with our 27th celebration.

It wasn't too much of a chore this week either because there is only one day to choose from, or rather, there was no choice, which makes it easier. It also makes it easier if it's something you can actually do. And so, please get ready to celebrate...
