Why I Blog

Back in September 2016, I wrote a post entitled I'm a Blogger?, it was a few months into my blogging journey and I was just beginning to acknowledge that I had, indeed, become a Blogger. Looking back, it seems strange that I had trouble in acknowledging that fact, but at the time the whole blogging world was still a huge and scary place to find myself. Today, it remains a huge world, but it's no longer scary.

Not Again!

It been a little while since little orange me has done any writing for you. I so sorry. It been really busy here. I not know why, but my girls were at home for a whole week, couple of weeks ago. Mummy said it was school hollibobs, or something like that. Anyway, them was out so much and me had no idea what was going on.

Celebrating Wednesday's #16

Hello again. It's so lovely to meet up like this every week, I do hope you're sitting down with a nice cuppa, or a coffee if you prefer. I must confess, I am not a coffee drinker at all. For me it has to be a nice big mug of tea, though I could manage a slice of coffee cake with that, just to appease all you coffee lovers out there.

Anyway, lovely as it is to chat about tea, cake and coffee, we really should get down to business and find out what we are celebrating this week.

Everything is Orange

Okay, so perhaps I am exaggerating just a little bit, but everywhere my Little Orange Doggy goes, there seems to be a fine coating of orange hair left behind. It doesn't matter how much time we spend brushing out that loose hair, there is always more left to fall out on the furniture. Thankfully, I have leather sofas so it's easily brushed off then hoovered up, the car on the other hand is a whole other story.

My Cat Hates Me!

You may or may not know, that as well as our Little Orange Dog, we also have a little black and white cat, named Sparkle. Sparkle is a tiny cat (she weighs around 3.5kg) and is very timid. She loves to be brushed and when her stomach tells her it's feeding time, is a very vocal little cat. She's also a little confused. I'm not entirely convinced that she knows she is a cat. Let me explain a little more.

Dear Terri (or A Letter to the PM #2)

Dear Terri,

Well here we are again, me writing to you, you not replying. It's fine, I'm not upset, I know you're very busy. You really have got your hands full with this running the country lark; rather you than me. Is it what you expected it to be? I suspect not. I suspect you thought you'd be having some lovely girly chats over a civilised cup of tea (served in bone china cups and drunk with pinky sticking out) with that Hilary girl. Still, you seem to have made friends with the Orange one quite easily.

I got a lovely e-mail from your offices the other day saying that your Orange friend will be visiting Blighty, and will be meeting our super lovely Queen. I'd really rather you weren't inflicting the school bully on our lovely Queen, but you seem to have made your mind up.

Now I realise that this is your new friend and you're probably looking forward to his visit, but I am very apprehensive about it. I'm not sure this 'special' friendship is a very positive one. Let's be honest, Terri, your new chum, is well, shall we say high maintenance. I've had to reduce the amount of time I spend watching the news or visiting the good old BBC News website because your friend is there, all the time and, quite frankly, he's not at all endearing. I do hope you're planning on teaching him some good old fashioned manners before you inflict him upon Queenie, otherwise I fear the corgis may show their displeasure and pee up his leg, or just bite his orange ankles.

However, since he is popping over could you let me know what the etiquette for greeting the Orange one will be. I know it's a way off, but I like to be prepared. Should I bulk buy orange paint from Homebase now so I can literally paint the town orange?

Also, will I be expected to partake of the bad spray tan and don a dodgy blond wig? If you could possibly arrange the visit for October time, that would be fabulous. I know your friend was a little disappointed with the low turn out for his inauguration, so I was thinking we could make up for it when he visits with thousands of these little chaps...

What do you think? If you give us enough notice, we should be able to rally the troops, so to speak, and give them different expressions.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for the kind response from your offices, it's always a real boost to know that you do indeed listen to the people and whilst I may not be happy that you are going ahead with a full state visit, I completely understand why you are unable to do a u-turn. Hence I am now fully embracing it, so if you could get back re my queries, that would be rather fab.

Lots of love and hugs,

Little Orange Dog

To Selfie or Not

I'm not going to lie, I really, really dislike selfies. That's not to say there are no 'me' selfies, but they are few and far between and are usually with my girls, not solo. The brutal truth, for myself at least, is that once you get to a certain stage of life, those selfies are not so flattering as they used to be. You of course, may be totally different and look abso-blooming-lutely fabulous, but I much prefer to have someone else holding the camera.

Celebrating Wednesday's #15

Here we are again, in the middle of another week, half way through the school half term holidays. I hope you're having a fun week with the children. We've been doing lots and still have plenty to do, so the week really is flying by for us.

However, let's get back to the reason why we are here, which is to learn what this Wednesday is celebrating and today it is...

Tea for One

Last week, I did something, I have never done before. Yes, I stepped right out of my cosy little comfort zone, complete with it's soft furnishings and soothing music and headed out in to the big scary world, in the hope of becoming a strong, independent woman. Who am I kidding? That is never going to happen. I may be strong, some of the time, I am certainly independent, to the point of being plain stubborn, but a woman? Nope, never, I will always be an overgrown teenage girl! Well I say overgrown, I'm not even that, most teens are far taller than me, but hopefully you get the idea.

By now, you are probably thinking, 'For goodness sake, would you stop waffling and just get to the point!' I apologise, I am very good at going off on a tangent, it's just the crazy way my brain works.

It Seemed Like a Good Idea

Have you ever had one of those moments, where something seemed like a really good idea, only to find it was the complete opposite? I have quite a lot of these moments, but when you add my inherent clumsiness into the mix, you have a recipe for potential disaster.

This morning, saw me get into another rather sticky situation, and to date, it is probably one of my best, or should that be my worst clumsy moments, thus far.

Celebrating Wednesday's #14

Hello everyone, thank you so much for coming back each week. It seems almost crazy that we are already celebrating the second Wednesday of February. Also, because we are in February and I care about you all, and don't want you to get into trouble, don't forget next Tuesday is Valentine's Day. If you are planning on celebrating, best get organised this week. Anyway, back to Wednesday.

What Is It?

Well there me is, asleep on the sofa, again. Me love to sleep on the sofa, and if me must say so me self, I is a very cute Little Orange Doggy when I having a snooze. Mummy says that when me has a little sleep, me sometimes move my legs. Her think that I am having dreams about running. Me not know what dreams are, but they sound fun!

Only in My Dreams!

I have a lot of dreams, many I don't remember, some that I do and others that are so vivid, I remember them for years; like the one where I was being chased around the living room by a giant wooden pelican. I have no idea why the pelican was wooden, nor do I know what it was doing in my living room, but I do have a bit of a bird phobia, so perhaps something was worrying me at the time.

Then there was the one I told a snake off for trying to eat a person. It really was a very naughty snake.

Anyway, the one thing that is certainly true of most of my dreams is that they are usually very, very odd. So this morning when  my alarm very rudely woke me up, I was a little put out because I was having the most fabulous and crazy dream of the year; thus far at least!

Celebrating Wednesday's #13

I can't believe where the week has gone to. I'll be honest, I hadn't even realised that it was Wednesday today, then I had a sudden panic because I hadn't got my Wednesday post ready. Eek! However, as you can see, I've managed to pull myself together and here we are Celebrating our thirteenth Special Wednesday.
